A few weeks ago I was in West LA and 2 nights ago I was in Pasadena. It’s been a while since I’ve been to both places but it’s weird how things have changed so much. Anyway, I noticed that both those times I had a really strange feeling of uneasiness there. It was as though I didn’t like being there. Maybe I don’t. Maybe it was the trendiness or glitzy atmosphere. Maybe it was the fact that the parking was horrible and that I had to pay for it as well. Whatever it is, it was revolting and makes me less inclined to visit again. While I was driving home last night, I was trying to figure why I felt this. One possibility is that I’ve grown accustomed to wide open spaces, trees, grass and other nature-type of stuff. I don’t mind the city life. In fact, I love it. But I think it has to be all or nothing. So if it isn’t NYC, Seoul, HK, etc., I’d rather live in Cleveland, SD, or where I am now. Somewhere near the beach but without the city-ness would be nice. Or somewhere that has a lot of trees. A lot of green. Atlanta would be great, but it’s too humid out there. Anyway, I’ve been sick lately and I’m a little high off the medication right now, so maybe I’m just losing my mind at the moment.
Looking back over the last year or so, I’ve realized that I’ve had almost no social life. Oh well. Sacrifices must be made, I guess. Living in Portland is nice and all, but there really isn’t much to do, besides looking at nature.
So this guy Kohbee Berayant has scored 65, 50, and 60 points in the last three games, all in wins. Some might think that he’s being selfish (or, as some might think, more selfish than usual). But, looking at his stats for the season, he leads his team in scoring and assists. Yes, his assists are mind-boggling, but you could say that he passes the most on his team (I’ll assume that # of assists are directly correlated to # of passes). Anyway, this recent streak reminds me of his crazy month a few years back when he averaged 40. Sure, he’s playing some bad teams, but the Lakurrs usually stoop to the level of their competition. Unfortunately, none of this will help him win the MVP award, because, as most pundits say, their team isn’t winning as much. This is bogus, though. I’ve always had problems with MVP voting criteria. I hate the criterion of “making other players better.” I think it’s dumb and completely unnecessary. Plus, it’s impossible to determine. I think coaches can have as much influence in that department as any star player. And I know that a team’s record shouldn’t be weighted too much because there are a variety of factors that come into play, such as injuries. Anyway, Kohbee will probably never win the award unless his team has the best record and leads the league in assists, because haters will always have their excuses.
Will he go for 70 tonight?
I’ve always thought that it was some sort of urban myth that farts could be ignited. Sure, theoretically, it seems possible, but I just hadn’t seen anyone actually do it. I mean, all those retreats, camps, sleepovers, etc. that I’ve had and not once did I see one try it. People talked about it all the time. Anyway, I now know that it is possible and now I am mad that I hadn’t known about this earlier. College would have been so much more fun…
As far as jobs go, I love what I do, but not when I’m actually doing it. Is this weird? Anyway, right now, I hate doing what I’m doing, even though I love what I do. I’ll keep it vague for now.

AI update. Once again, Melllindaa Doooolitttle shines again. She’s the obvious favorite to win it all. It’s no secret. It’s just a matter of getting the votes. Surprisingly, the guys did relatively well this week (it was actually the best overall performance of all the contestants). As far as the guys go, I still think Blaaake Lewiiss is the best, but there is a growing aura of arrogance about him. He’s obviously got rhythm, dance moves, beat boxing skills, musicianship and though his singing isn’t his best quality, he definitely has a unique voice (reminds me of Stiing). He’s certainly the most original person among all the remaining contestants. In terms of overall style, people are likening him to Vannillla Iccee…another white hip-hop dude. I think, though, in order for him to survive, he’s gonna have to boost up his vocals.
If you’re not a male, suppose that you are. Suppose further that you find out that you are somehow pregnant. It doesn’t matter how. It simply is a fact that you are pregnant. What would you do?
Asking this only proves that I’m really weird or incredibly brilliant.
I posted something last month about how we often say that we’re busy just to get out of a bind or use it as some excuse for whatever. Anyway, 2 weeks ago, I heard a sulgyo about … being busy! He mentioned another reason why we say we’re busy that I hadn’t though of. Basically, we say this to feel good about ourselves. It makes us feel like we’re important. We find distractions or other things to make it look like we just don’t sit around the house doing nothing. Anyway, can’t remember the details, but what I’ve been trying to do is make a concerted effort to limit the number of times that I say that “I’m busy,” even if I am busy. Of course, there’s nothing wrong with saying that one is busy. Many of us actually are. But I suspect that we tend to say it more often than we should, myself included. I just want to challenge myself to make myself less busy, so I am not tempted to say that I am busy. I don’t want to be busy, do you?
It’s amazing how “global warming” is so widely accepted as fact. People don’t realize that it’s a theory, which doesn’t make it false, but it does mean that it can/should be contested without someone thinking that they are crazy. First of all, I don’t even know what “global warming” means. Is the actual earth getting warmer? The air? The water? There are temperature measuring difficulties in all three. Maybe not these days so much, but what about 100 years ago?
Pbear occasionally writes some crime logs from his area. His are legit. Mine, however, are real, but retarded. Here’s one from my institution: “Caller reports a female lying down in the grass.” Apparently, the rule is that they are obligated to report exactly what the the caller reports. I remember another one like, “A young boy calls in saying that there are ducks on the road.”
Anyway, at this very moment, there are a couple cops outside my street with a guy sitting on the curb. Very exciting…
You know, I used to think it was cool that Barrrackkk Ohbammma mentions Oxxy, even though he decided to transfer early to Columbeea. But, I figured out that he’s just trying to gain more votes! Do not be fooled! Besides, all he is is charisma. No substance. He’s a good communicator, but so what? So are con men and most other politicians. This doesn’t mean he’s a bad candidate, it’s just that I haven’t heard any solutions or plans with any kind of specificity. It’s all vague. Anyway, he ditched us. He decided to leave the Tigers and become a Lion. Traitor!
Pbear has posted a link about the Korean contestant on Amaricahn Iddoll, whom I’ve mentioned in an earlier post. It’s about how Azieans are not getting any fame cuz of their skin color, for example, Paull Kkim on AI. Well, I have a few things to say about this guy, especially why he was the first to get kicked off, which I predicted.
First, his initial audition (I think in Seattle), was good, but not great, despite what the judges thought (of course, though, it’s probably a different experience hearing someone in person as opposed to someone through the TV). Nevertheless, I’ve seen better. However, to his credit, he sang “If I ever fall in love” by Shai. I’ve always thought that, if I ever were to audition for AI, I’d probably choose this song. So, when he sang it, my ears perked up.
Second, he had this retarded thing about not wearing shoes (or socks) to any performance and wearing the same lucky underwear. This may have turned off alot of voters who were possibly considering voting for him. He was being stubborn about it. What was he thinking?! Did he think he was going to be able to do that for the rest of his career? C’mon.
Third, he had pretty squinty eyes. Of all the good yellow singers out there, this one just had to have the stereotypical eyes. He should have got them fixed before showing up on TV.
Fourth, his performance of “Careless Whisper” was horrible. Absolutely horrible.
Fifth, even if he did really well, who’s gonna vote for him?
Costtco is awesome. But I guess they had to relent on its return policy sooner or later…Here’s an article about how much money they’ve been losing on returns…
Every once in a while a photograph captures a moment that causes our insides to scream. This is one of those moments. Shaunnn Livinggston of the Clipppers dislocated his knee today. You can see his kneecap has shifted toward the inside of his leg. Ouch!

So Jennifuh Hudsinn just won an Oscar. Just a few years back she was singing in a church (respectable in its own right), appears on Americahn Eyedoll, gets cut too early, appears in a movie with Murphy, Beyonsay, Jaymee Focks, and appears on Opprahh. As if that weren’t good enough, she wins all these little acting awards. Then SAG, GG’s and now an Oscah. Quite amazing. Wish it could happen to me. I guess I gotta be black so I can sing.
So I’ve got about 4 weeks left of this crazy quarter. The unbelievable thing is, next quarter is going to be pure hell. Oh, and this summer’s going to be the worst ever. And IF (that’s a BIG ‘if’) everything goes well in October, I’ll be the most happy person in this room. Anyway, the point is, no fun for me until October. I am going to turn down an opportunity to go to New Orleans to do some outreach work there. This is one of the hardest decisions I’ve had to make, but I think it is the right one, considering it requires a lot of training and prep. Oh, I forgot to mention that I’m going to Hawaii in June for my halmoni’s 90th bday (actually, it’s in April, but we’re celebrating in June). It’ll be fun seeing relatives all in one spot. Hopefully she’ll still be alive by then. What? What’d I say?
First off, although I am still in favor of Melinda Doolittle on Amarican Eyedoll, Lakisha Jones, was crazy. It’s going to be Doolittle vs. Jones. All the guys suck. The Korean guy got kicked off, which was my prediction. Decent voice, bad performance, and you can’t compete against all the little white girls calling in to vote for the other guys.
Anyway, a few weeks ago, there was a botched robbery near my house which resulted in a murder. It’s right down the street from me. It’s weird, cuz I was driving to that area around that time. In fact, the ambulance whizzed right by me. Well, it’s a sad story about a manager of the Home Depot, who wasn’t even supposed to be there. His shift was over and he was just making sure everything was in place. Also, this location was just temporary, since he was just helping out the location store. Anyway, they finally caught a suspect who looks to be the guy. Here are two articles on the story. Here and here. These articles don’t explain something about the victim that was quite sad. He was a crazy fan of NASCAR and had dreams of riding on the track. So, his wife gave him a 40th Bday gift: a chance to ride in a NASCAR event. He never got the chance cuz he had to work more shifts to support his family. Anyway, a few days after he died, a NASCAR car had his name on it in his honor in a recent race.
So, if you don’t know, I’m an electronics geek. Anyway, I’ve been scouring my favorite geeky websites for the last year or so, trying to figure out what new cell phone I should get. I finally got one, which I have waited for about 3 months, since news first broke out about it. It’s innovative, but I’m not sure if I’ll be keeping it. I’m not entirely happy with it, but it super thin, and it’s a flip phone. Actually, that’s not entirely true: it’s a dual-hinge flip phone. I’ve got another week to return it.
I’m a pretty close watcher of the show “AI.” The seasons (i.e., the contestants) have gotten better and better each year and much more competitive. From this year’s initial regional auditions, it seemed like this year would be so much better than any of the years past. They’ve finally narrowed it down to 24 and today was the showcase of the men/boys. It was pretty disappointing, actually.
